Today's Scripture

The angel of death was not looking at the character of the persons in the houses in Egypt, when God sent him through the land of Egypt.  He was not looking to see who has a good report or bad.  All he was looking for was the blood upon the door-post of the houses.  The blood was a symbol of Jesus Christ blood that would later be shed at Calvary.  Those that were in the houses where the blood was upon the door-post had before- hand made a choice to obey God.  Once that choice was made to obey God they were safe and exempt from the judgment of God.  Am sure many in those houses were far from living a life of total holiness, but they had before-hand accepted the word of God and choose to obey it.  Likewise when we accept Jesus Christ as Lords and Savior we are past from death to life.  God judgment will not condemn us because Jesus blood has redeemed us. 

Romans 8:1. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  Romans.  ³³ Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

 ³⁴ Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

 ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

³⁷ Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

 ³⁸ For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

 ³⁹ Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

As the children of Israel was safe from the wrath of God in the act of accepting his word from Moses, so also all those who accept God’s Son Jesus Christ is and will be safe forever in the promise of God.

Christ is not the minister of sin therefore all who accept him and have his nature imparted to them will live Godly. (Not perfect we will not go to heaven because we are perfect, but rather because we accept Jesus Christ who is the perfect Lamb of God).  We do well not because we are good.  We do well because we choose the author of goodness over the author of evil. 

2 Corinthians 5:17 

 ¹⁷Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

God took away the old desires and gave us the desire of his nature.  God hates it when we sin against him yet we does it every day. 

Romans 3:23 

 ²³For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Yet like a good father who hates when his children do wrong but still love them and cares for them.  A good father will not purposely let anything bad happen to his child, even after that child just do the opposite of what the father told him to do.  He loves his child regardless while hating the disobedient act of the same child.  That father will not let any outside source threaten the security of his child.  If we earthly fathers been evil will do that for our children.  Can you imagine our heavenly father’s love for those who are in him?

When we do well we do it because he lives within us.  By myself I can do nothing.  I am what I am because of Jesus Christ.  When I cannot see my way clear He makes a way.  Therefore all glory, and honor, and power, and wisdom and adoration be unto Jesus Christ my redeemer, my strength, my light and my God.  Without Him what good am I?
