11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me
There is no saviour.
According to the above quote from God Himself, there is no God but Him, and there is no Savior but Him. If we therefore find that Jesus claim and prove that He is the Savior of the world: then we must not only accept Him as savior, but also as God.
This is a something that many struggles with today. Many Christians today cannot give an adequate answer to this profound question. It is imperative to get this right, because if we do not get this right we cannot fully understand what Salvation is. Let’s plunge into the Word of God to see what is revealed to us about this man Jesus.
From the very first book of the bible we read
14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Note: God made a promise that the serpent would bruise the heel of this seed, and the seed would bruise (crush) the serpent’s head.
Let’s us follow this promised seed.
Genesis 26:4
And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.
Paul speak to this verse and said.
Galatians 3:16
The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,”[i] meaning one person, who is Christ.
This seed would crush the serpent head, here we see that through this seed all the nations of the earth would be bless. Paul tells us plainly that this seed is Jesus Christ. When Jesus died on the cross the devil bruised His heel. When Jesus rose from the dead He crushed Satan’s head. Today Satan’s head is still been crushed by Jesus Christ through those who accept Him. Satan’s head will continue to be crushed until when Christ return and once and for all put an end to his evil rule.
How is every nation on the earth bless through this promise seed?
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Acts 4:12
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved
Romans 10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Isaiah 53
53 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
All these scriptures are speaking of one person, it is not Budda, it is not Muhammad, it is not Joseph Smith, it is not Charles Russel, it is not Ellen White, it is not Mrs. Baker Eddy, it is not any of the Hindu Gurus. All of the above scriptures is speaking of Yeshua (Jesus Christ).
The Hebrew name for Jesus is Yeshua, a name found 27 times in the Hebrew Bible, so we know exactly what his name was. (The name is accented on the second syllable: ye-SHU-a). Yeshua is short for Yehoshua (= Joshua), which means Yahweh is salvation. The first trace of the name is found in connection with Joshua, the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. Originally his name was Hoshea (Num. 13:8). The name Hoshea is derived from the hiphil stem of the Hebrew verb "yasha" [yod, shin, ayin] (BDB, 446; Gesenius, 435), which means "he saves, delivers." So the name Hoshea means "salvation" or "he saves, delivers." Moses changed his name to Hebrew "Yehoshua"
One must understand what the name Yeshua meant in the first century AD, and the NT tells us that. Because Yeshua is the short form of a name meaning "Yahweh is salvation," it is highly appropriate that this is the name of the Savior of the world, as Matthew 1:21 attests. In that text the angel of the Lord explained its meaning:
"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus (Iesoun), because he will save his people from their sins."
Hence, God himself explained through his angel that Jesus’ name means "Savior," just as the NT emphatically indicates in many places:
"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11
"They said to the woman, ‘We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world." John 4:42
"God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel." Acts 5:31
"From this man’s descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as he promised." Acts 13:23
"For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior." Ephesians 5:23
"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ," Philippians 3:20
"but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel." 2 Timothy 1:10
"and at his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior, To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior." Titus 1:3-4
So we see that all Scriptures point to one source of Salvation, and that source is Yeshua (Jesus Christ). The Bible did not teach that Jesus was merely a good man, or a great prophet: It tells us that He is the unique Son of God who came into this world to destroy sin on our behalf. Whosoever believeth in Jesus as the only Savior, and invite Him into their life as Lord (master) they will have everlasting life.
Abraham never claimed to be a savior. Moses never claimed to be a savior. Jacob never claimed to be a savior. David never claimed to be a savior. No of Gods servants in the Bible ever claimed to be more than mere man, for so they were. Jesus However did more. Jesus forgive sin, He allow Himself to be worshipped, He said, “If you see me you see the Father.” (Making Himself equal with God) Therefore many times the Jews took stone to stone Him. If He was not God our Savior (Isaiah 43:11) then they would be justified in stoning Him, but they could not.
Jesus Christ came into the world to die for our mess, we justly deserve to go to hell. God so loved us that allow Him Son to die an accursed death that whoever believeth in Him should not die but live in His presence forever. The other side of the coin is this, refuse Jesus as your Savior and Lord and one day you will spend eternity in hell. God cannot sent you to Heaven because he loves you, because that would violate His justice. Hell is not a love issue, it is a justice issue. The guilty must pay the price for the crime he has committed. When we accept Jesus as Savior, our punishment is absolved, because Jesus already paid it for us. Basically the truth is simple, allow Jesus to pay for your crime, or you will have to pay for it yourself. The way you will pay for it is in hell fire.
Revelation 20
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
John 3
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God
That is good news my friends, that is the message, that is the Gospel
OH NO, THIS IS NOT HIM. The Messiah was crucified in Jerusalem between AD 30 and AD 34 in fulfillment of Isaiah 53:9. He was born in Bethlehem the City of David in fulfillment of Micah 5:2. He rode a donkey into Jerusalem in fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9. He rose from the dead in fulfillment of Isaiah 53:10. His name is Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Christ). How many of those prophecies did you fulfilled?
Looking for the coming of Jesus You read that and your mind might go right to the Rapture of the Church and jn part you are right to do so, but am going to look at the Old Testament expectation of Jesus. "Jesus" is an English rendition (transliteration) of the Greek name Iēsous, which is a translation of his original Hebrew name, Yeshua (Joshua). In other word, when Mary called her son, she dis not say, "come here Jesus," she would say, "Come here Yeshua." The first place Jesus's (Yeshua's) name is mentioned in the Bible is in Genesis 49:18. "I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD." ( "לִישׁוּעָתְךָ קִוִּיתִי יְהוָה׃.") Notice it is only three Hebrew words, "Li-shu-'a-te-cha kiv-vi-ti Yah-weh." Breakdown Li-shu-a-te-cha - "For your salvation" kiv-vi-ti - "I have waited" Yah-weh - LORD (all Capital) In the word "Li-shu-a-te-cha" is the name Yeshua. L- (לְ): Prefix meaning "to...
Talking Jesus "The Lord thy God." Matthew 22:35-37 KJVS Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. What can we learn from the answer Jesus gave to this lawyer? The question was. "Which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus told him, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." I want to examine the phrase, "the LORD thy God, but focus more on the title "Lord." The Greek word for Lord is kurios. It refers to a person exercising absolute ownership rights, such as a master, owner, or supreme authority, and is used over 700 times in the New Testament to refer to God or Jesus. Here is the foundational Old Testament reference verse. "Hear, O Israel: The LORD ...
