JUSTIFICATION
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
We were created perfect without sin. God desire is for us to be restored to sinless perfection. We could not possible restore ourselves since we were born with a sin nature. If we could live a perfect life, meaning from the day we were born until the day we die we never commit even one sin, we still could not restore ourselves to the place where God had made us, why? What would we do with the sin nature that is intrinsic to all mankind?
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
When we accept the free gift of Salvation that comes through Jesus Christ, we are instantly restored to that place of honor we had with God the Father before Adam and Eve fell. We stand in the court of God's justice guilty, but because we accept Jesus His perfect sacrifice, we heard the pronouncement of not guilty where a guilty verdict should had been past. Justification is God declaring guilty man innocent in the light that he accept the imputation of Jesus' perfect life in place of his own. Because of this legal transfer by divine prerogative, God can look upon us as perfect as His own Son. As Christ is so are we in the world today.
This is just a highlight of what justification really is, it is much more, but for this alone, I would not with one thousand tongue be able to thank God enough. I thank God today because my name is written in the Lamb's book of life.
