JESUS CHRIST IS GOD
29] for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father's hand.
[30] The Father and I are one.
31] Once again the people picked up stones to kill him. [32] Jesus said, "At my Father's direction I have done many good works. For which one are you going to stone me?"
[33] They replied, "We're stoning you not for any good work, but for blasphemy! You, a mere man, claim to be God."
For those who say Jesus Christ is not God, answer this question, why was Jesus crucified? Was it because of the miracles He did? Was it because He was eating with sinners?
In this passage we see the reason Jesus was crucified, they tried to kill Him here but His time was not yet. The reason they killed Jesus, was because He claimed to be God.
Now if someone say Jesus is a good man or a wonderful prophet, was that the reason He was crucified? The fanciful footwork of our thoughts cannot alter the fact that exist. Jesus Christ died because He claimed to be God. Now if you believe anything different that what Jesus taught about Himself, you are an unbeliever. Jesus could not be a good man and save anyone. Jesus could not be a great prophet and save anyone. Every good man was born with sin. Every prophet was born with sin, you need a sinless sacrifice to atone for the sin of man, you cannot have sin atoning for sin.
If we believe the testimony of man, the testimony of God is greater; and this is the testimony of God, that we have life, and that life is in His Son.
These are few other sayings of Jesus, tell me if a mere man could say these things. Could you hear Moses or Abraham saying the following.
John 5:17-19,21-23 (KJV)
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. 18] Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. [19] Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
21] For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them ; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22] For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: [23] That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
Jesus would truly be deserving of death if these claims were not true, and they have been justified in killing Him. The only reason Jesus was crucified is for His claim to be God. This is one truth that all must face, was Jesus telling the truth about Himself of not. If Jesus was not telling the truth, then He was an imposter, He cannot be a good man or a great prophet. If Jesus was telling the truth then we must all make a decision for or against Him.
John 5:25-26 (KJV)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26] For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Could a prophet of God say these things?
There is nothing more important in the world to a person, than what they believe about Jesus Christ
