In the beginning God
How many beginning does the Bible speak of?
Answer: One!
Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 references the same beginning. Any other beginning suggested by Christians is imported not revealed.
What does the Bible mean by the word "beginning?"
The Hebrew word is "reshith." It means, "head," "the first in time," "place," "rank," or "order."
Creation as described in Genesis Chapter one speaks of the introduction of time. The Latin phrase "Ex nihilo" from nothing" or "out of nothing."
Before the beginning of creation there was absolute nothingness. For anything in the universe to exist four things are necessary, time, space, matter, and force.
According to the framework of physics, cosmology, and philosophy, these four elements (often combined as space-time, matter, and energy/force) are considered the fundamental requirements for the existence of the physical universe.
This is why God introduced Genesis 1:1 with the words. "In the beginning (time) God created the heavens (space) and the earth (matter)." The force behind creation is God.
Because there was absolute nothingness God had to call things into existence from nothingness. The word for "created" in Hebrew (the Language of Genesis) is "bara." It means, "to fashion" or to "create." It is used exclusively to describe divine activity. The word is never used to describe the work of man, it is only used to describe the act of God. Man make (Hebrew: asah), only God can "create."
Lets keep our eye on the word "beginning." If am confused about the age of the earth this one word should clear up our doubt, that is if we believe the words of Jesus.
Non-believing scientists and some Bible theologians tell us that the universe is 13.8 billion years old, and that the earth is only 4.5 billion years old. Some Christian theologians may disagree on the exact number these scientist suggest, but they believe nonetheless in billions of years. These scientist tells us that man evolved from ape-like homsapiens. They said anatomically modern humans (Homo sapiens) came into existence about 300,000 years ago.
The clear teaching of Scripture make these claims preposterous but so,e Christians shamelessly bow to these unbelievers claim.
Why did I asked how many beginning does the Bible speak of? Because of what Jesus said. In addressing marriage and divorce, Jesus made the following DECLARATION.
Mark 10:6 KJVS But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
Jesus said, "from the beginning of creation God made them male and female." We see this truth in Genesis 1:26-27.
How does these Christians who believe in billions of years harmonize this verse with their false belief? They can't.
Here is what the bold ines who made an attempt puts it.
"The creation Jesus speaks about is not the original creation, it is the creation of man."
Hold on a minute. Lets read what Jesus said again and let's look for one word "the."
"But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female."
The word "the" is called a define article. "The" is the only definite article in English. It is used before singular or plural nouns to indicate that the identity of the noun is known to the reader or listener, referring to a specific or particular item rather than a general one.
Jesus used the definite artice "the" because He already knows what it reference (creation) we already know. If there are 12 apples on a table and I say to you, give me "an" apple, you are at liberty to give me any of the 12 apples. If on the other hand I say to you, give me "the" apple, i just removed your freedom of choice, you are now limited to give me one specific apple, because "the" is definite, it specified only one unique apple on the table. Since you don't know which of the 12 you must ask me which apple. Jesus said "the creation" because believers already know what creation He was referencing.
Genesis 1:1 KJVS In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Jesus says these scientists and Christians who teach what they teach are liars. Deductive reason tells us therefore that Jesus believe in a young creation.
