SPURGEON ON JOHN 10:28

FROM CHARLES SPURGEON DAILY DEVOTIONAL Morning And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish. John 10:28 The Christian should never think or speak lightly of unbelief. For a child of God to mistrust his love, his truth, his faithfulness, must be greatly displeasing to him. How can we ever grieve him by doubting his upholding grace? Christian! it is contrary to every promise of God's precious Word that thou shouldst ever be forgotten or left to perish. If it could be so, how could he be true who has said, Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I never forget thee. What were the value of that promise-The mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. Where were the truth of Christ's words-I give unto my sheep etern...

The Christian Peace

The Christian peace is not the absence of turmoil, it is not the mountain top above the great flood, neither is it the smoothing words of those around us. The Christian peace is Christ. Psalm 34:19 (KJV) Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. Isaiah 43:2 (KJV) When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. John 14:27 (KJV) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. The Word of God has been manifested in the person of Jesus Christ, so God gives us comfort through His Word by the person of His Son Jesus Christ. The Word that said, let there be, and there was, is the peace of the Christian heart. Patrick Cameron. Jesus loves you

MARK 2:2-3,5

MY COMMENTARY ON MARK 2:2-3,5. Mark 2:3-4 (KJV) 3[And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.] 4[And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken ] it[ up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.] Why did these men come to Jesus with their sick? (A). It is obvious that they trusted no one else or had seen anyone else who was able to do for them what needed to be done, (namely to heal this man). (B). They could not come nigh unto Him. This tells us that Jesus commanded such an audience, weather you believe in Him or not, His message and His action was attractive. (C). They uncover the roof... And when they had broken it up. The need of these men was great, but the need did something else, it triggered a faith that was totally rested upon Jesus. The object of their faith had to supersede the fear, of the repercussion of their action. This ...

CHRIST AND THE SERPENT

Christ and the serpent If the serpent is symbolic of sin, why did God told Moses to make a bronze serpent on a pole for the people to look upon for their healing when they were bitten by serpents? If we are bitten by sin (serpent), how then can we look upon the same sin (serpent) to save us? Most of what happened in the Old Testament was a picture of what was to come. They were pointing to that which would later make real that which were only a shadow. The serpent on the pole was a picture of Jesus who would become the means of our salvation. When sin ran rampant in our lives, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for the ungodly. John 3: 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. WHY WOUL...

God My God

THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT GENESIS 17:1-27 As we come to this chapter, it will describe the Lord coming to Abraham and establishing His covenant with him. It will seem at first to be merely a repetition of the covenant that was given in chapters 12 and 15. The term “covenant” was not actually used in chapter 12, but it was found in chapter 15 to summarize the covenant cutting ceremony presented in that chapter. Now as we come to chapter 17, the covenant idea seems almost anticlimactic. We have already seen the covenant cutting ceremony in which the presence of God moved through the pieces of the animals. We have already heard the promises of God. We have already been told that God entered into a covenant with Abram. But a closer examination will note some striking differences between these chapters. Genesis 12 Genesis 15 Genesis 17 From Abram would come a great nation through which all the families of the earth would be blessed. Confirms a great nation will come from Abram, ...

Cry Out

"CRY OUT" Oh the depth of my wretchedness, oh the anguish of my troubled soul. The deep compass me about, the light of day I cannot see. I tried with all my strength, tried to make it to the top; my effort seems to be working against me. There is nothing on which to stand. Is there hope yet for someone like me; has God forgotten this lump of clay that He has made? The waves roared above me, darkness, darkness is everywhere. Is this the end God meant to be, or just a test to strengthen me? I called on faith, even though his voice was faint, I heard him say, "CRY OUT". From the depth of despair my soul cried out, LORD SAVE ME!!! The light began to break, the depth under my feet began to rise with purpose. God has spoken, creation is responding, all because I dared and cried out. My head is above the wretchedness of my pass.  My soul is basking in the blessedness of what He has done.  All because I cried out. I realize now that all my strength is futile...

Hostess Tribute Pt. 1

Image
You may miss a loved one (person), but some people can also miss companies, brands, and etc. One of them is Twinkies, which is by Hostess, which has defunct this Friday. So, in honor of Hostess, I have posted this on this blog (which is my dad's) and my blog. Deuteronomy 34:1-8 is what we'll be doing today, along with a Let's Live It! This is from Bible Gateway by the way. Deuteronomy 34:1-8 King James Version (KJV) 34  And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the  Lord  shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, 2  And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea, 3  And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar. 4  And the  Lord  said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give i...

I BELIEVE GOD'S TESTIMONY OF HIMSELF

WHAT DO I BELIEVE ABOUT GOD AND HIS SON? The Hebrew word for believe is Aman, it means to lean upon, picture a person leaning against something.  To believe God is to lean upon God.  This is the word we use to sign every petition we made of God, "Amen.".  In Hebrew the "E"  in the middle of the word "Amen" is pronounce as "Ay" as in HAY.  So you might hear a rabbi say, Amain instead of Amen because the "E" gives the "Ay" sound.      When we say in the name of Jesus Christ Amen, this is what we are are actually saying; in the name of Jesus Christ I believe, or in the name of Jesus Christ I am leaning. The Hebrew word Aman is transitive, this mean it must have an object.  Belief cannot stand alone, it must have an object on which to believe, you cannot believe in belief.   The object of our belief must be able to sustain that for which we are believing.  I would not lean against a dangling rope expecting it to hold me up.  ...

WHAT THE LAW COULD NOT DO

The Law and the Promise Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Abrahamic Covenant, and He did. The Abrahamic Covenant did not follow the law of Moses; the law of Moses followed the Abrahamic Covenant. This is very important to understanding the plan of God. Why was the law of Moses given? The Bible said, it was given as a school master, for the purpose of leading us to Christ. The law was given in order to keep man from going outside the limit of God's set boundary. God had a people and He intended for them to walk with Him in righteousness. Since man natural instinct is to go against the will of God, and since man could not possible know the righteous demand of a just God, He had to set forth a standard with the intent that they would after seeing His mighty works in Egypt, trust And obey Him. The law was therefore given as perimeter to keep God's chosen people from wandering into the sinful parts that the heathen nation around them was walking in. We know how that turned out. Ma...

THE WORD OF GOD

GOD’S WORD The intrinsic eternal Word of God that was spoken brought everything into existence out of nothing. This same Word God clothed with flesh. (The Word became flesh) God sent this same Word into the world, for the express purpose of restoring a lost work back to Himself. God‘s Word is not created, it is eternal, in other word, God’s Word is God. The Word of God cannot be separated from Him. In the Old Testament we read, the Word of God will not return unto Him void, but will accomplished that for which it was sent. Yeshua the Word that became flesh came into the world, and because He was the Word of God, He could not return to the Father without fulfilling all that He was sent to do. So we hear Yeshua say, “I came not to do my will, but the will of my Father who sent me.” And yet again He said, “Behold I come in the volume of the book, to do thy will.” Yeshua is the total fulfillment of all the Father’s heart desire. In Genesis chapter 1, we see the Word of God b...

IS JESUS CHRIST THE ONLY SAVIOR OF THE WORLD?

IS JESUS CHRIST THE ONLY SAVIOR OF THE WORLD? GOD SAID Isaiah 43 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me There is no saviour. According to the above quote from God Himself, there is no God but Him, and there is no Savior but Him. If we therefore find that Jesus claim and prove that He is the Savior of the world: then we must not only accept Him as savior, but also as God. This is a something that many struggles with today. Many Christians today cannot give an adequate answer to this profound question. It is imperative to get this right, because if we do not get this right we cannot fully understand what Salvation is. Let’s plunge into the Word of God to see what is revealed to us about this man Jesus. From the very first book of the bible we read 14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And ...

THE PROTECTION OF HIS PRESENCE.

THE PROTECTION OF HIS PRESENCE PSALMS 91 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh...

JUSTIFICATION

Justification Genesis 1 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 2 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 3 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and...

Revelation 19

God My Salvation 5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. 6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. My soul will forever praise thee oh Lord

Jesus

Jesus My Savior Because Jesus lives I can live also, for I know that my redeemer liveth, and because of that I can never die. Jesus did not die because of sin, He died because He chose to. Jesus said,No man take my life from me, I lay it down on my own accord, I also have the power to take it up again. If Jesus had died but not rose again then no one could be saved. Our Salvation is wrapped up in the fact that Jesus rose from the dead, Just like He said he would. Our hope is in the life of Jesus and that life (for us) has gained the victory over dead and the grave.

DID JESUS REALLY ROSE FROM THE DEAD?

Dr. Terry Watkins, Th.D. Dial-the-Truth Ministries The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is either ... the greatest event, or the greatest fraud — in history! Did Jesus Christ actually rise from the dead? Dr. Greenleaf, the Royal Professor of Law at Harvard University, was one of the greatest legal minds that ever lived. He wrote the famous legal volume entitled, A Treatise on the Law of Evidence , considered by many the greatest legal volume ever written. Dr. Simon Greenleaf believed the Resurrection of Jesus Christ was a hoax. And he determined, once and for all, to expose the "myth" of the Resurrection. After thoroughly examining the evidence for the resurrection — Dr. Greenleaf came to the exact opposite conclusion! He wrote a book entitled, An Examination of the Testimony of the Four Evangelists by the Rules of Evidence Administered in the Courts of Justice ....
